Gastronomy

The old Eierhäuschen (egg house) has an important place in Berlin's history. Over 100 years ago, it was already a popular place for leisure and recreation. In the new Spreepark, the Eierhäuschen is also a gastronomic location with a restaurant and beer garden. The catering concept envisages the use of predominantly regional ingredients, prepared in close connection with the season and the region. This is a key result of the four-year public participation process on the future of Spreepark.

The 175-square-metre restaurant area in the Eierhäuschen comprises 70 indoor seats plus around 80 seats in the dance hall. An additional 176 outdoor seats are available on the restaurant terrace and in the restaurant garden. The 500-square-metre beer garden has 250 outdoor seats and a playground.

A new operator for the restaurant is currently being sought through an expression of interest process. To ensure that visitors to the art exhibitions at Spreepark Art Space, which is also located in the Eierhäuschen, continue to have access to catering, coffee and cake will be offered in the old dance hall every weekend during the winter months.

An interim opening of the beer garden in cooperation with a Berlin catering company is planned for April 2026.

Tender for catering services in the Eierhäuschen and beer garden

A new catering operator is currently being sought for the iconic Eierhäuschen (egg house) at Spreepark. The new catering facility in the Eierhäuschen is set to mark the start of the reopening of the Spreepark area. This historically significant location, in conjunction with the Spreepark Art Space art gallery with exhibition rooms and artist residences, and the opening of the legendary Spreepark, offers an ideal platform for establishing a sustainable venue for dining combined with a diverse range of art and culture in Berlin. The expression of interest process will run until 15 March 2026.
