Construction & Development

Milestones

Since 2014, the Spreepark site has once again been owned by the state of Berlin. The development of the Spreepark of the future began in 2016. The start of the redevelopment of the "Lost Place" marked the beginning of a four-year participation process in which thousands of citizens contributed their ideas and suggestions for the Spreepark.

At the same time, planning was driven forward in an iterative process and individual preparatory construction measures were started. In December 2023, the renovation of the Eierhäuschen was completed, which since March 2024 has brought together the restaurant and the Spreepark Art Space with its art and exhibition programme and artist residencies under one roof. The main construction work in the park itself has now also begun.
