The actual construction measures for the Spreepark of the future can only begin after the Treptow-Köpenick district has established a development plan, which is scheduled for the end of 2021. In order to secure the area and the dilapidated old rides in the short term, initially for public tours and the "Spreepark Laboratory," initial smaller construction activities were implemented early on and the park was continuously maintained. In order to be able to reopen the Spreepark as quickly as possible after the development plan has been determined, numerous measures have also been implemented.
The Eierhäuschen, which will open as early as 2022 as the first section of the new Spree Park, is exempt from the development plan process and has been undergoing renovation since 2019.
The media development for Spreepark and Eierhäuschen will lay the foundation for future operations. The work is expected to be completed in September 2021.
The outline planning for the new Spreepark envisages a main entrance directly at the Eierhäuschen. To create space for this, the dilapidated old head building of the factory hall was demolished.
The listed Eierhäuschen will be renovated by the end of 2021. It is scheduled to open in 2022 as a restaurant with a beer garden and a jetty, and as an art house with residences and exhibitions.
In close coordination with the Treptow-Köpenick district office, a hotspot remediation with soil replacement and accompanying groundwater monitoring was carried out.
